Hi! My name is Mrs. Simmons and I am SO excited to be a part of the Cannaday Elementary Third Grade Team! More importantly, I am THRILLED to be your teacher! It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I want to know all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me!
I was born and raised in Mesquite, TX and I am the youngest of FIVE! I have three older brothers named Gary, Cody and Joe and an older sister named Andrea. I love them! I also have NINE nieces and nephews and they keep me pretty busy! When I graduated at Horn High School, I moved to Marshall, TX, about 30 minutes from Louisiana, to attend East Texas Baptist University and played softball for 2 years… GO TIGERS! I majored in Early Childhood Education and couldn’t wait to graduate and start teaching!
In college, I taught in every grade from kindergarten to sixth grade but it wasn’t until this spring that I taught my favorite grade… THIRD! This will be my first year teaching and I love third grade because I know exactly where you are coming from and exactly where you need to go!
I am married to a wonderful man, Andrew, who is going to school in Dallas to be a counselor. We have the most amazing puppy, Maggie. She is a black lab that is crazy, hyper and so spoiled! She will be one year old in November and you can expect to hear many stories about her throughout the school year!
I am so excited to get our “spidey senses” tuned in so we can swing our way through this fun new year. More importantly, I can’t wait for YOU to be a part of it!
